Dr. Fazal Reza practices dentistry with genuine passion and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He takes immense joy in caring for patients of all ages bringing patience and warmth to senior citizens while creating a calm, reassuring environment for patients who experience dental anxiety. His extensive expertise spans root canal therapy, crown and bridge prostheses, restorative dentistry, surgical extractions, orthodontic treatment with Clear Aligners, teeth veneering, and teeth whitening. Dr. Fazal believes strongly that dental problems must be communicated as transparently as possible.
Dr. Fazal’s knowledge was built over more than a decade of studying, teaching, and practicing across multiple countries. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Dhaka University in Bangladesh, followed by a PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University in Japan. He served as a clinical faculty member at Universiti Sains in Malaysia before making Canada his home. His wide-ranging dental expertise backed by experience across different countries and different Canadian communities, from Timmins in Northern Ontario all the way to the Greater Toronto Area has made him exceptionally confident and versatile in providing satisfying, high-quality care for patients from all occupations.
He successfully completed the National Dental Examining Board (NDEB) Written and OSCE examinations and holds his practice license from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), of which he is an active member. He is also a proud member of the Ontario Dental Association.
Dr. Fazal has accumulated experience treating seniors with sensitivity and respect, and has been a dedicated supporter of the Senior Dental Program in the York Region for several years a commitment that remains ongoing. He has also provided care for large numbers of residents in local seniors’ homes and retirement communities, bringing professional, compassionate dentistry directly to those who need it most. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Fazal enjoys playing tennis and spending quality time with his family.
Dr. Murshid Shariq BDS (Hons) earned his dental degree with Honours from the University of Peradeniya, where he received the Professor Lakshman Samaranayake Award for Excellence in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. After relocating to Canada in 2022, he completed the Canadian National Dental Examining Board (NDEB) equivalency pathway, achieving RCDSO licensing in 2025.
Dr. Shariq provides patient-centered care focused on precision, prevention, and long-term oral health. Known for his calm and attentive approach, he is dedicated to creating a comfortable and elevated dental experience. Outside the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters.
Tracy is a Certified Dental Assistant Level II (CDA II) and a graduate of Durham College. She is dedicated to providing quality patient care and creating a comfortable experience for every patient. Tracy is detail-oriented, professional, and passionate about continuing to grow in the dental field. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and playing badminton.
Pharmacist turned clinical research professional with experience in patient care, healthcare operations, and clinical studies. Passionate about healthcare, continuous learning, and improving patient outcomes. Currently working alongside Dr. Fazal to explore and expand my knowledge in dentistry and patient-centered dental care.
As Business Manager at Oshawa Downtown Dental, Sayka Amin brings years of experience in dental practice management, patient relations, and operational leadership. After playing a major role in the growth and success of Hwy 7 Family Dentistry, she is now focused on helping develop and strengthen the vision of Oshawa Downtown Dental and expanding the practice network with the same dedication and patient-centered approach.
Sayka works closely with the team to ensure smooth daily operations, excellent patient communication, and a welcoming experience for every individual who walks through the door. She and Dr. Fazal Reza have been married since 2000 and are blessed with two wonderful sons. Outside the office, Sayka has a passion for cooking and has authored a cookbook featuring recipes inspired by her cultural
background and family traditions
